Twolate - Baila The tirbal style drums on this track are so good, and the vocal again is super catchy. It’s another track I always come back and listen to. Solardo & Maur - Power Switching things up now as this one reflects more on my first release, ‘Ecstasy & Love,’ and is still one of my favourite tunes. I love this track; it hits you in the feels and keeps you interested the whole way. And who doesn’t love a piano breakdown with that special sprinkling of the famous Maur’ Arp’. Purple Disco Machine - Body Funk Throwing a Disco Bomb in the mix here! This track instantly transforms me back into the Wild Corner at Hi in Ibiza with Paul Reynolds about 4 hours into his mammoth 7-hour sets. The whole room was completely invested in the music, and it was absolutely bouncing in there! It’s also one of the first songs I played at one of my first proper DJ gigs, and people kept coming up to me for weeks after saying ‘what’s that track that goes like 1,2 1,2 1,2 … 3,4’ Bicep - Glue Changing things up now. I couldn’t pick my favourite songs and influential tracks without including this one. This track just massively hits you in the feels. It brings back so many memories from so many different things. I think Bicep are absolute geniuses for this. Such a masterpiece. Faithless - Insomnia Going back to childhood influence with the next few now. It’s a track I have played literally thousands of times and am still not bored with! This absolute classic is one of the reasons I got into making electronic music. The soundtrack in my first car when I passed my driving test, this CD was on repeat every single day. The eerie backing music, the vocals, the massive lead - I just love it! Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy An absolute masterpiece of a song. Again, a huge part of my teenage years and all the memories associated with them. Another CD on repeat in my first car. This track brings so much emotion and is definitely a track that’s been a huge part of my life. Sascha Dive - from the greater Frankfurt Area - has made a strong mark on the international house and techno scene for the past decade. With his first vinyl release in 2007, the deep house traveller is considered a young gun in the deeper fields of house music. Highly inspired by the godfathers of deep house, such as Moodyman, Chez Damier and Ron Trent, and the first waves of German house labels, such as Playhouse, Dive has established himself as a skilled producer and DJ since his first appearance. His musical range stretches from deep house to soulful minimal sounds and powerful techno. He has performed at leading clubs and festivals worldwide and released impressive music on labels such as Tsuba, Freebase, Deep Labs (Balance US), Raum...Musik or Stir15. Dive is also the mastermind behind the successful “Deep Vibes “label, with productions and remixes by himself and other artists such as Brothers Vibe, Robert Dietz, Christian Burkhardt, and Markus Fix. Julien Perez - Spacetime Interval I am a big fan of Julien’s track “Pussyselektor” on Girada Unlimited, amazing chords! The track “Spacetime Interval” is in a similar vein! Subb-An - Patterns Another of my favourite producers! This song has everything; a groovy bassline, very nice organ chords and pads. Simon Vuarambon - Afrika A young producer from Argentina from whom I have already often played his EP on Shanti Radio Moscow. The track “Afrika” is very much akin to this EP. Perfect material for the peak time. Janeret - Elevated An emerging producer who always delivers good quality music - I have played many records from him in my DJ sets. The whole EP Is amazing - Tech-House Vibes a la Terry Francis & Eddie Richards. Beanfield feat. Bajka– Tides (Art Department’s Roxy Blue Remix) We all remember the remix from Mr. “Carl Craig” for this beauty. The remix from Art Department goes more in a groovy direction. It was good to see that this release earnt a repress! The Craig Remix is another which I have often played. Dylan Forbes - Air Beneath This one is progressive with a touch of trance. I like the music from Dylan as it tends to remind me of the old Tech House Tracks Sasha was playing in the past. Great record. Marc Brauner - Weekender A wonderful Chicago House Track presented in a new way for 2023. The whole album from Marc, “Companions”, is very good throughout! Noana had his first release aged 17 and has reached ever higher heights since then. The drummer grew up with a jazz musician father and is a genuine studio wizard who works as a sound designer, sound editor and composer for TV and film. He always brings a cinematic quality to his work, and as one-third of Leu Leu Land, an act signed to Sony Music Sweden and supported by Steve Angello through to Above & Beyond, he has remixed the legendary Giorgio Moroder and Britney Spears. Following his impressive “Afterlife” EP on Finnish label Youth Control, we asked Noana to serve us his very own Hot Picks: Pearson Sound - Red Sky Starting off this playlist with a fierce banger from Pearson Sound. Being a sucker for hostile Reese basslines and tight breaks, it was easy for me to fall for this one. Loving the hypnotic evolution from being intimate and hostile to becoming more friendly and open, with melancholic synth melodies and atmospheric elements coming in later on Leon Vynehall - Mothra This one is a precisely crafted piece of art from Leon Vynehall. Great textures and a hypnotic and irregular feeling dynamic melody with an atmosphere building up while you are busy focusing on the lead melody. There is something in this song that reminds me of Lorn’s big basses with dystopian pads that made the song make me feel at home very early on. Kidnap - Untroubled A minimalistic masterpiece from Kidnap. Perfect for calming you down. Absolute innocence. Tight rhythms, organic feelings, pads building up, taking you with them. Lovebirds - In My Soul ft. Stee Downes This has to be one of the tracks that I just never get tired of. A timeless classic that grounds you on every listen. This original length version especially has enough time to build up the vibe. London Grammar - If You Wait (Riva Starr Remix) This one still feels fresh, even if it’s almost ten years from the release. Loving how well London Grammar captured the feeling that something great is waiting to happen in the original. Riva Starr managed to enhance this feeling very well with his organic and warm drums that evoke a hint of calm and controlled excitement that keeps you going. Todd Terje - Ragysh One of my all-time favourites from the Norwegian synth legend Todd Terje. Loving the details in the drums, and what makes this song pop for me is the killer arrangement. This one takes its time to get you on with the groove to later lift you up in the air surrounded by magical arpeggios to later bring you back to the groove. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Blood In The Snow (Tibi Dabo Remix) The original is a brilliantly ethereal track. This remix has some exceptionally tight drum work from Tibi Dabo. If the feeling of being a young tree standing in the middle of a giant storm barely strong enough to stay up could be described with music, I bet this song comes really close to describing that, haha Joseph Ray - Cos Of You Transcending piece of art from Joseph Ray. This hits the right spot with the vulnerable vocal traversing around. Someone in the comment field of youtube gave this song a great description: a perfect mix of beauty and banger DJ HEARTSTRING - Met Her at Bäreneck Loving this pulsating banger of 90’s era trance aesthetic from German hyper house duo DJ HEARTSTRING. Being a millennial growing up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s it’s a bliss to experience new infectiously nostalgic killers like this one Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding - Miracle Growing up listening to both Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, I’m not gonna lie that I’m not hyped and so deeply satisfied by this 90’s journey Calvin Harris is on right now. It's easy to see why she has already established a staunch following in the underground. The flow and the blend with the melody just hit the feels perfectly. It inspired my ‘Mixed Feelings’ EP for sure. Lenzman - Cherry Blossom In almost every one of my tracks, you'll find a breakbeat, and drum and bass, especially liquid DNB/funk, was what initially introduced me to the world of electronic music. Lenzman, in my opinion, is also a genius when it comes to conveying emotions through music. BINKBEATS - Little Nerves feat. Niels Broos A super cool jam session with loads of different instruments, all sorts of effects, and loops going on. Layering is key, and I'm trying to work that more into my process. It's really interesting to see how the track keeps evolving and changing. Underworld - Luetin I don't think I need to say much about Underworld. The entire album 'A Hundred Days Off' is just mind-blowing to me. Mac Miller - The Spins The song combines two artists who accompanied me a lot during my youth: Mac Miller and Empire of the Sun. Kevin de Vries - Pegasus In the "wow how did he make this track category" I just want to give up producing it's that good :) Seriously, just a very mature dark melodic techno journey track that surprises and satisfies the listener with elite-level music. Made By Pete & Zoe Kypri - Horizon Red My favorite track of the year. Simple perfection. The vocals are as good as vocals get and it's just so smooth, silky, and groovy. Structure, sounds, arrangement, and groove are all next level. Daniel Steinberg - Take My Hand I love soulful vocals with a dark beat and this track delivers on the dance floor. Another Brazilian producer has been raising the heat of the local scene with his productions full of groove and class: Lomike. His more introspective sound line, with strong references to Minimal Deep Tech and UK Tech House, has already won over even Jamie Jones, who has been playing his edit of the track “H 2 Da Izzo” in various places around the world. Now, on just his third release, he released the TGDM EP on Gritty Records and even before the official release he already saw guys like Wheats and Detlef providing support on the title track. Its authentic sound brings a lot of glitches and raw textures that give a different look to his music. Techno is more in evidence than ever and demands more and more originality from DJs and producers. The person who understands this is LUMERTZ, a brazilian artist who has lived in Australia since 2019 precisely to be in contact with the international techno scene. In these almost 5 years, he has absorbed a wealth of experience and now, finally, he is more than ready to take on his first commitments in Europe. He recently performed at two partner events of the Amsterdam Dance Event, in the Netherlands, his first time there. The first one took place at the Eat the Beat Showcase, with Metodi Hristov. After that, he participated in Kaligo Records Showcase, at 50: Hertz House & Techno Cafe. Soon, a new release from him will arrive on Kaligo Records, a Brazilian record label that is prominent in the country within the Techno scene. LUMERTZ evolved his sound towards a dirtier and more hypnotic aesthetic within Raw Techno, always adding a lot of speed and dynamics to his productions, which have already reached labels such as Tronic, Mavic Music and Noise Music. Cameron Glasgow has been on the dance music circuit now since 2018, throwing sold-out parties in Belfast — hosting the likes of Partiboi69 and Sons Of Charlie, to more recently completing his very first UK and European tour back in May selling out shows in Helsinki, Dublin & Edinburgh. Further to this Cameron Glasgow has begun releasing music since 2022 already amassing 300k+ global streams and gaining support from industry heavyweights BBC Radio 1, Bicep, Joris Voorn, Kevin de Vries, and more. His next release 'No More Tears' continues on in the same fashion as Cameron's career, an anthem packed with rave-infused elements and raw emotion. DJ Heartstring - Never Let Me Go I couldn’t make this list without including a production from these two. This one’s my personal favourite from them, that 'Tell It To My Heart' sample completes it for me, that’s a huge classic in its own right. From uplifting synths, the trance bass line & those drums, this track takes on that classic Eurodance vibe which I’m all for right now, pure euphoria. X-Coast - Bailando 2023 First came across this one being played in Ibiza, and rightly so. Real Balearic vibes with it, love the Spanish vocal sampled from Paradisio’s timeless Eurodance track, 'Bailando'. The piano build also really brings those feel-good vibes. Banger from X-Coast and one I love to play out when I get the chance! Lime - Babe, We’re Gonna Love Tonight What a tune! I remember hearing this for the first time on New Year’s Eve years ago, Denis Sulta dropped it and the whole dancefloor went carnage. Absolutely timeless and will stay in my arsenal for years to come! Blue Hawaii - I Felt Love I love this track. The bass line, pads, and vocals gel together perfectly - this one gives me really good energy and has been part of my regular playlist for some time now. DJ Haus - Catch Your Breath (Coco Bryce Remix) None of my sets go without a couple of breakbeat tracks, so this one from Unknown To The Unknown would be just fine dropping it in the middle of the set to change the mood a bit. Lubelski – Feel Good Lubelski is one of my favourite producers ever. His baselines are to die for! All the elements in his tracks are always very tight and groovy, just like this release on Observatory Music. Miguel Lobo – Lemme Freak Like Miguel Lobo’s work for his very deep and techy groove, that kind of keeps you in anticipation. This track from Roush Label is a great example of that. Harvy Valencia – Wurdem This track from Harvibal is in my top 3 favourite tracks of all time. I can’t even count how many times I have played it. It is a pure raw groove. Sebastian Eric – Dancing Creatures I have a lot of tracks from this producer, but this one, in particular, I included in my sets many times. It has a very interesting, catchy and dark groove, with a lot of attention to detail. It came out on Ulfelde Records. Multiple decades of fascination with electronic music have led Ethos to this stage of his life, drawing early influences from the likes of Kraftwerk and The Prodigy, recording tapes at a young age and listening to them repeatedly. This organic curiosity for music led him to 20 years worth of travel, working in clubs, and exploring different scenes and cultures before heading to Dublin, where he would learn to DJ and then begin to produce in 2022 with Elevator, bringing us right up to his first outing as a producer. Hot off the heels of his dynamite release on Hybrasil's Elevator Program "Devils Paradise," Irish producer Ethos joins us for the latest Hot Picks. His EP entered the charts at number 4 and reached number 1 in Techno Raw Deep Hypnotic new releases on its second day: Fabio Florido - Roots - RUNA018 Another sonic classic from Fabio Florido on his split EP Roots with NKX on his RUNA label, sending out the right energy and frequencies with this timeless piece. One of my favourite labels and producers. Warm dub stabs, great vocals and Fabio Florido's signature all over this track. Exciting label and concept here for the right reasons. Hybrasil - Celestial Sphere - Luchtaine EP -We Are The Brave Hybrasil going from strength to strength, delivers yet again with some special tracks for his Luchtaine EP on We Are The Brave Label. My pick and favourite is Celestial Sphere. Another timeless track with a raw and hypnotic celestial groove and synth line to take you on a journey. Pyramidal Decode - Circular Movement - Mnestic Records - MNSC005 Exciting Italian producer Pyramidal Decode who has graced Jeff Mills Axis Records, Warm Up Recordings and many other great labels to date, delivers with his Circular Movement EP on Mnestic Label. Circular Movement is a rolling and evolving techno track with otherworldly sounds and constantly moving elements. Isabel Soto - Nueva Era - NYXII Isabel Soto is rising fast and strong with her hypnotic and evolving signature. Nueva Era translates to New era in English . An indication of the intention of NYXII Labels' first EP release. A split EP release with Isabel Soto and MPHS. Nueva Era gets my pick. A true classic hypnotic journey. Eyes closed while dancing. Kastil - Quadrature - Perseverance EP WU84d Kastil has delivered something very special to Warm Up Recordings with his 8-track Perseverance EP. This was difficult to decide which track I would select from a great release. In the end, my personal choice was Quadrature. Timeless, distorted, groovy - the list goes on.
