Nautica return to 8bit with their latest EP, ‘Do Anything’, a four-track collection that reinforces the duo’s reputation for delivering groove-led House music built for long-form dancefloor moments rather than short-lived peaks.
Landing via the respected German imprint on 29th May, the release finds Josh Lewis and Caolan Savage leaning into the qualities that have become synonymous with their sound over the past decade. Across the EP, rolling drum patterns, warm low-end pressure and tightly programmed percussion provide the foundation, while subtle melodic flourishes add depth without distracting from the central groove.
Among the four tracks, ‘Sub Theory’ stands out as a particularly effective snapshot of the project’s wider ethos. Built around a driving rhythm section and a hypnotic groove that steadily unfolds over its runtime, the track thrives on restraint. Rather than relying on oversized breakdowns or dramatic shifts in energy, Nautica focus on momentum, introducing small changes in texture and movement that keep the record evolving while maintaining its locked-in feel.
That approach sits at the heart of the entire EP. Whether heard in a packed club, an open-air terrace setting or woven into an extended DJ set, each track feels designed to work as part of a larger journey. The result is a release that rewards patience and immersion, placing emphasis on movement, rhythm and flow.
For Nautica, ‘Do Anything’ arrives during a period of growing momentum. The duo have become familiar names across labels including 8bit, PIV and Solid Grooves, while performances at venues such as DC-10, Fabric and The Warehouse Project have helped establish their reputation on dancefloors across Europe and beyond.
Recent success has only strengthened that trajectory. Their late-2025 release ‘Sway’ became one of 8bit’s standout records, attracting widespread DJ support and further cementing their position within the contemporary House landscape. Alongside their releases, the pair continue to develop their own TYDE imprint, using it as a platform to push both their productions and event concepts forward.
With ‘Do Anything’, Nautica deliver a cohesive body of work that prioritises consistency, control and groove. It is a release built for dancers who appreciate the journey as much as the destination, with ‘Sub Theory’ providing one of its most compelling moments.
