Jhojho Reworks Detlef’s ‘Music Please’ For Repopulate Mars’ 10th Anniversary

Ten years into its journey, Repopulate Mars is looking back at some of the records that helped shape its catalogue, handing two early favourites from Detlef to a new generation of producers for a fresh overhaul.
We premiere Jhojho’s remix of ‘Music Please’, a heavyweight update of Detlef’s 2019 original that lands alongside Tony Romera’s rework of ‘Swagon’ on the label’s new 10 Year Remix EP.
The fast-rising Greek producer wastes little time putting his own stamp on the track. Searing synths and distorted low end push the remix into more aggressive territory, while its tightly wound percussion keeps everything locked into a rolling tech house groove.
It is the tension around the drop that gives Jhojho’s version its biggest moment. A wild spinback abruptly pulls the energy away before the track crashes back into its full bass-driven rhythm, turning a familiar Detlef cut into something designed firmly for contemporary peak-time floors.
The remix arrives during a period of growing momentum for Jhojho. Already supported by Jamie Jones, MK and Detlef himself, his catalogue includes releases through Issues and elrow alongside his own Techords imprint, where he has continued to develop his groove-heavy take on house music.
For Repopulate Mars, the release offers a fitting way to mark a decade in operation. Founded by Lee Foss in 2016, the label has spent ten years balancing established names with emerging talent, making the decision to revisit its earlier catalogue through current producers feel particularly appropriate.
Tony Romera completes the package with his own interpretation of Detlef’s 2017 track ‘Swagon’, bringing a darker, late-night groove to the original.
