Linds is stepping further into the melodic side of his sound with ‘Destiny’, a euphoric new single landing on A State Of Trance. Drawing from the spirit of 90s and early-2000s trance while retaining the energy of its contemporary resurgence, the track pairs an uplifting lead melody with driving drums and a timeless rolling bassline.

The record initially took shape somewhere between Warsaw and Berlin, with Linds sketching its defining melody during a five-hour train journey to a show. A first dancefloor test followed that night at Berlin’s Lokschuppen Club, before the return journey provided another opportunity to refine what would eventually become ‘Destiny’.

For his Hot Picks, Linds selects ten records spanning old-school favourites, newer discoveries and tracks currently finding their way into his sets. From The Space Brothers and Solarstone to Funk Tribu, S3PPA and Matty Ralph, melody, emotion and dancefloor energy run throughout.

The Space Brothers – Forgiven

“This track heavily inspired me while creating ‘Destiny’. Old school trance synthesisers in the best shape and form, playing an uplifting melody. This is the exact feeling I wanted to achieve on the dancefloor.”

Daxson – Aurora

“Amazing track by Daxson with a melody you simply can’t forget. I still remember the first time a friend played it for me on the drive home after a show. Last week, I dropped it during my sets in Belgium, and all I can say is that the moment felt truly magical.”

Atlantis, Avatar & Miriam Stockley – Fiji

“This track had a huge impact while writing chords to ‘Destiny’.”

Matty Ralph – 1999

“Track by fellow DJ Matty Ralph that combines the best of both worlds: the high energy of modern trance with a breathtaking lead synth that completely sweeps you away. The uplifting feeling creates something special and keeps you locked in.”

Funk Tribu – Life

“A track by my friend Funk Tribu, who I really respect as an artist. It’s more minimal when it comes to sound selection but hits you right in the chest when the drop comes in. Definitely one of the tracks I’ve been listening to a lot lately.”

Jeno, Wempe – In The Air

“I remember when I first heard this track in some YouTube set and instantly Shazamed it. The feeling this track gives you is a mix of high energy and emotion. Dancefloor weapon!”

Solarstone – Nothing But Chemistry Here (Sean Tyas Remix)

“This one has been sitting in my record collection for a long time. It was one of the first trance tracks I ever fell in love with, and I still find myself coming back to it time and time again. A timeless classic for me, and without a doubt one of the records that inspired me to pursue a trance sound of my own.”

S3PPA – Inner Peace

“To say I like the work of S3PPA would be an understatement. I love how he produces tracks so that it feels old-school and new-school at the same time. ‘Inner Peace’ is a newer work from him. What a track!”

Retro Watchtower – Azzurro

“Relatively new to my playlist, but already a firm favourite. In my opinion, ‘Azzurro’ is a hidden gem, and this track perfectly showcases why.”

Boris Brejcha – Darkness

“Boris is the DJ and a reason why I started producing at the start. ‘Darkness’ is one of my favourite tracks from his collection. Perfect melody and a feeling it gives, you instantly know it’s a Boris Brejcha track.”

Across Linds’ selections, the connection between past and present is clear. Classic trance records sit comfortably alongside a new generation pushing the sound forward, united by the soaring melodies, emotional tension and high-energy releases that first drew him towards the genre. It’s the same meeting point Linds explores on ‘Destiny’, bringing the spirit of uplifting trance into a record built for today’s dancefloors.
