Hot Picks: The Indiigo Child Shares 10 Records Connecting Emotion With The Dancefloor
San Francisco based producer Daniel Knott, aka The Indiigo Child, has built his sound around the meeting point between emotion and the dancefloor. Since launching the project in 2018, his music has moved through house, melodic techno, acid, Latin influenced rhythms and cinematic electronics, with releases spanning Save My World, Alpha Good Girl, Techno Dream and Throttle Therapy.
That journey continues with ‘Memories’, a new EP shaped by his experiences living in the Bay Area over the past two years. Inspired in particular by the creative community surrounding Lake Merritt in Oakland, the project explores how memories can shape who we become without pulling us away from the present. Across ‘Memories’ and ‘East Bay’, soulful samples, melancholic chords and stripped back house grooves bring that idea onto the dancefloor.
