Portugal-born DJ, producer and multidisciplinary artist ØTTA has announced her long-awaited debut album ‘PELE DE MAR’, set for release later this year via her own label and global party brand, HOTTIES.
Arriving alongside the announcement is new single ‘PULSO.’, one of the album’s most uplifting moments and a track that encapsulates the diverse influences shaping ØTTA’s musical identity. Combining sensual house grooves, Latin rhythms and the bass-heavy sounds she embraced while living in London, ‘PULSO.’ offers an energetic introduction to the wider project.
Described as a deeply personal body of work, ‘PELE DE MAR’ traces ØTTA’s journey across the places, cultures and experiences that have shaped her over the last decade. Beginning in Lisbon and extending through London and South America, the eight-track album explores themes of identity, memory and self-discovery through a collection of club-focused productions.
The title translates loosely as “skin of the sea”, reflecting the artist’s connection to the ocean and the role travel has played throughout her life and career. Across the album, listeners can expect everything from the Rio de Janeiro-inspired ‘RIO’ and the Paris-influenced ‘THAT SNACK’ to collaborations with Bibi Babydoll, Lua De Santana and FIAH.
Before emerging as one of electronic music’s most distinctive rising talents through her breakout ‘Plus One’ EP and widely celebrated Boiler Room appearance, ØTTA spent years immersed in music, art and architecture. Those influences continue to inform both her productions and the wider creative vision behind HOTTIES, the community-focused label and event platform she founded.
More than a debut album, ‘PELE DE MAR’ serves as a reflection on the people, places and experiences that have shaped ØTTA’s life, documenting a journey that spans continents while remaining firmly rooted in dance music culture.
