Mind Against’s HABITAT imprint returns with ‘Metaflora IV Vol. 2’, bringing its fourth compilation chapter to a close with 15 tracks from an extensive cast of established and emerging electronic artists.

Following May’s first instalment, which saw several selections enter Beatport’s Melodic House & Techno chart, the new volume brings together Colyn, Recondite, Momery, Solique, Brina Knauss and more, exploring the space between driving club music and atmospheric electronic production.

Mind Against open proceedings alongside Tharat and shel·ly on ‘Sorry Mom’, reuniting after their previous collaboration ‘Wagon’. Pensive vocals meet buoyant rhythms on a track that establishes the compilation’s emotive direction before Greek duo Momery introduce delicate piano melodies on ‘Nothing To Do’, a favourite in the label founders’ DJ sets.

Colyn shifts the momentum towards the dancefloor with the acid-tinged ‘On The Run’, while Dyzen and Sideral’s ‘Hooligan’, YetMore’s ‘Overdue’ and Severin Su and Ben Eidani’s ‘Man vs. Machine’ bring tougher grooves and a more assertive rhythmic edge.

The collection’s atmospheric side emerges through Recondite’s ‘Kiczo’, Solique’s ‘Motion’, Hedda Stenberg’s ‘Breathe’ and Timelapse’s ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’. Spacious textures, restrained basslines and brooding melodic elements offer a contrast to the more immediate club material.

Brina Knauss adds another vocal-led dimension with ‘Hunting You’, while Fat Cosmoe and My Flower’s ‘I’ll Be Hurry’ combines melodic warmth with a driving low end.

Towards the closing stretch, Ivan Masa’s ‘Elettronico’ and Fade’s ‘Damac’ introduce grittier percussion and darker synth work, with CALAO’s ‘Toy Boy’ adding a more unconventional character to the compilation’s club-focused selections.

Across both volumes, ‘Metaflora IV’ reflects HABITAT’s broader musical identity, connecting emotive songwriting and detailed sound design with the rhythmic foundations of melodic house and techno.
