Moroccan English producer and DJ Yazmina turns up the heat again, this time landing on Yousef’s Circus Recordings with her new ‘Amnesia EP’. The title track ‘Amnesia’ hits first. A low slung groove drives the pace with tight drum work and a weighty bass that sits deep in the mix. The energy stays focused. Nothing feels overdone. Vocalist Lucky Samurai adds spoken word moments that slide through the track with ease and give it a late night personality. It has that steady pulse you hear in the darker corners of a club when the crowd settles into a rhythm.

‘Flangé Bongo’ switches gears. The percussion takes the lead with warped, flanged and chopped patterns that never sit still. The groove pushes forward with a more playful tone. A sharp vocal hook lifts the mix and adds movement. It’s the kind of track you can imagine dropping at the afters when the room needs something loose and fun but still rooted in proper house.

The EP shows two sides of Yazmina’s direction. One track holds tension. The other releases it. Both carry her clean drum work and her instinct for grooves that feel simple on the surface but open up the more you sit with them.

Based in East London, Yazmina has been refining her production since 2022 after training at Point Blank. Her blend of deep house, house and tech house has already caught the attention of Jamie Jones, Amine Edge and Dance, Arielle Free, Syreeta, Peggy Gou and Jammer. Releases on Hottrax, Nervous, Glasgow Underground and Under No Illusion laid the foundation. Circus Recordings now adds another key label to her path as she continues shaping vocal led house that stands confidently on its own terms.
