I-Robots presents ECHOES OF ITALY - THE AGE OF VOOM VOOM MUSIC Turin Dancefloor Express, a new archival various artists release out now via Jungle Fantasy - Space Echo. Released on Friday, March 6, 2026, the collection explores the catalog of Voom Voom Music, the influential independent Turin label founded by producer, DJ and club owner Ivo Lunardi. Spanning rare originals, unreleased versions and newly unveiled I-Robots edits, the release shines a fresh light on a label that helped shape a distinct corner of late-1970s Italian dance music.
Sonically, the collection captures a striking mix of disco, pop, rock and Afro-influenced groove, all viewed through a bold, forward-thinking Italian lens. Across cuts from Myele, M’Bamina, The Boston Garden, Oxid and Stratosferic Band, the compilation moves from disco-funk and spacey rock-dance hybrids to rhythmic Afro-rock and richly reverberated club edits. Tracks like “Lady Pick-Up,” “Splashdown,” “Nowhere” and “N’Zoumba” reveal a label unafraid to blend African American musical influence with European songwriting and dancefloor instinct. The result is both historically significant and genuinely playable, full of character, motion and musical ambition.
At the heart of the project is Gianluca Pandullo, better known as I-Robots, who has owned the original Voom Voom Music master tapes since 2016. A close friend of Ivo and Luca Lunardi, Pandullo has taken on the role of preserving and recontextualising this important catalog through his labels Opilec Music and Turin Dancefloor Express. His involvement gives the release both archival depth and curatorial authority.
