Tim Kollberg continues his rise through 2025 with another charged club weapon. His latest single, ‘Acid Break’, made alongside Ziggy V’Niles, captures the raw, unfiltered pulse of the underground.
From the first beat, the track wastes no time in setting its tone. It’s a tight, high-energy blend of techno and acid, driven by a single relentless groove. The acid lines twist and evolve, while classic chord stabs and punchy percussion keep the energy spiralling upward. Everything feels intentional, from the tension in the vocal snippets to the thick, distorted bass that rumbles underneath. You can picture the strobes hitting in perfect sync.
Tim explains that the collaboration came about through SoundCloud hashtags. A rare modern example of online connection fuelling authentic creativity. “After listening to his productions multiple times, I realised that we embody the same musical spirit,” he says. The two artists merged their approaches, with Ziggy bringing a raw techno groove to Tim’s more structured acid ideas. The result is a sound that feels both retro and forward-thinking.
Built for those sweaty, late-night moments when the crowd is locked in, ‘Acid Break’ has a fierce, almost hypnotic quality. It’s a reminder of how simplicity can hit hardest when executed with precision. Rather than overcomplicating, Tim and Ziggy lean into texture, groove, and flow, the kind of approach that separates timeless club records from fleeting trends.
With each release, Tim Kollberg cements his place as one of Düsseldorf’s most exciting techno exports. From founding his own Nightlight Sessions community to releasing a growing series of club-ready singles, he’s pushing his sound to new corners of the global scene.
