Spanish producer Tensal, makes a welcome return to Concrete Records. Behind Consciousness is a four-track vinyl-only EP that captures his signature balance between physical energy and deep, meditative control. Having released on influential imprints such as Slam’s Soma, Oscar Mulero’s Warm Up, Bas Mooy’s Mord, and Emmanuel’s ARTS, Tensal continues to refine a sound that sits confidently between functional precision and hypnotic abstraction.

The title track, “Behind Consciousness,” opens with a sense of quiet propulsion, where its clipped percussion and angular bleeps unfold patiently, each layer drawing you deeper into its measured tension. “Itaewon” follows with darker contours, its chugging rhythm wrapped in foggy atmospheres and restless synth motions that give the track a brooding, nocturnal character.

On “Mandrax,” Tensal introduces warmth and motion, pairing a bouncing low-end with metallic details that shimmer and twist through the mix. The result feels alive, subtle but dynamic, evoking movement without aggression. Finally, “Foeh” closes the record with an almost introspective grace, its stuttering kick pattern and spacious design guiding the listener toward a weightless, suspended state.
