In the early days of their story, when Ten City emerged in 1989 with “Foundation”, they didn’t just join the conversation around house music, they elevated it in a massive way. Led by Byron Stingily’s unmistakable falsetto tones, and backed by Byron Burke and Herb Lawson, the group fused gospel-rooted soul with deep, House groove-led production to create clubland anthems like “Devotion,” “That’s the Way Love Is,” and “Right Back to You” - records that helped define a generation of dance music.

Fast-forward 36 years, and Ten City enters an exciting new era! Byron teams up with Chicago’s DJ Emmaculate, one of the city’s most respected modern producers, for “The Next Generation”, a full-length 13 track album that bridges legacy and evolution with passion and finesse, landing on Nervous Records. Over 13 tracks, the project blends emotive songwriting and elegant production with today’s rhythmic edge. The DNA of soulful house remains intact, but it’s reimagined through a contemporary lens - warm, polished, and forward-thinking.
Emmaculate’s finely tuned production and suave provides the perfect soundtrack for a standout cast of vocal talent as Byron is joined by Mon’Aerie, El Boogie & Ric Wilson, DRAMA, D. Lylez, OVEOUS and Uneq’ka, each bringing their unique texture and tone to the record. With additional input from co-producers Shebazz Curtis, DJ Flipside, Na’el Shehade, Gershon Jackson and Paris Cesvette, “The Next Generation” delivers a cohesive yet dynamic journey through deep and soulful house, all anchored in that rich Chicago heritage, but reaching far beyond. This isn't just a comeback, it's a continuation of a brilliant legacy, reinterpreted for now. Get ready to dance!
