Venezuelan-born, Spain-based DJ and producer ROXY is carving her path with intent. Her debut EP’ Bang Bang’ on Stacey Pullen’s Blackflag Recordings marks a powerful introduction to her new alias. At the same time, her episode for the Undrscovered mix series showcases the bold identity behind it.

The four-track EP is a statement of evolution. The title cut ‘Bang Bang’, created with Hierba Mala, is hypnotic and fierce, while ‘Bubbles’ digs into heady textures and grooves. ‘Jamboree’ brings carnival energy that nods to her Latin American roots, before Pullen steps in with a sleek remix of ‘Bang Bang’.

“This EP represents the evolution of my sound since moving from Venezuela to Spain,” says ROXY. “It is the result of a deep personal and musical journey, a search for authenticity and identity through sound. Each track reflects my influences, my roots, and my love for both underground electronic music and urban culture. Above all, this EP gives voice to strong feminine energy within a space that still needs more representation.”

That message carries into her Undrscovered mix. “I wanted to take the audience on a personal journey, connecting my Latin essence with my love for hip hop, while exploring Garage, Deep Tech, House, and my most recent productions. My goal is for each track to feel authentic, like a dialogue between the streets and the dancefloor, with strong feminine energy.”

ROXY’s story begins with movement rather than production. “My first contact was through dance, specifically Break Dance,” she recalls. “Then I became a vocalist in a band, but I realised it wasn’t enough to express myself musically the way I wanted. That’s when I started DJing, and the following year I began producing.”

Her sound now blends dense basslines, groovy rhythms and urban-influenced vocals. She credits Missy Elliott, Cypress Hill, and Lauryn Hill for their lyrical expression, Bob Marley and Max Romeo for their harmony and vibe, and DJs like Loco Dice and Stacey Pullen for their consistency and authenticity.

That authenticity runs through her approach to DJing. “I like listening to everything related to the genre and its surroundings, without preferences. I enjoy being surprised by new artists or even by my favourites when I’m making my selection.”

With the ‘Bang Bang’ EP setting her foundations, more projects are on the way, including ‘Tap In’ on Nervous Records and a collaboration with Jamie Coins for Tony Romera’s new label House Delivery. For ROXY, each step is a building block. “Every moment has been important. Regardless of size or scale, each experience has shaped who I am today, and I’m grateful for all of them. I know the best is still to come.”

Her advice to rising artists is as direct as her music: “Stay true to your ideas and sound. The industry needs innovation, and you’ll go further being authentic than by trying to fit in.”

With momentum behind her, ROXY is set to bring her raw, high-energy sound to new audiences while amplifying a strong feminine presence in the underground.
