Quarters Brighton Free Raves Draw Thousands With Jungle And DnB Lineups

Quarters Brighton has launched a new monthly series of free raves, giving clubbers access to quality lineups without the usual entry fee. The programme opened last month with a packed ‘Free The Jungle’ takeover featuring drum and bass heavyweights Ed Solo and Benny L.
Inspired by the free rave spirit of the late eighties and early nineties, the initiative aims to keep club culture accessible at a time when rising costs are forcing many people to skip nights out. The response has been immediate. More than 4,000 tickets have already been claimed as ravers take the chance to experience one of Brighton’s most respected underground venues.
The next event lands on Friday 27 March with a showcase focused on jungle and classic drum and bass sounds. All female collective Sexy Lady Massive headline the night, bringing the high energy that has seen them appear at major festivals including Boomtown and All Points East. They are joined by Silva Snipa, whose sets blend old skool drum and bass with UK garage influences.
On Friday 10 April, the series continues with ‘Free The Bass’. Drum and bass duo Phibes headline with their dancefloor focused productions, while São Paulo artist Jam Thieves brings the upbeat sound he has released on labels including Hospital and Ram. UK rave pioneer Nicky Blackmarket completes the lineup.
Located on the historic site of The Zap, one of Brighton’s most influential club spaces, Quarters continues to invest in the city’s clubbing community.
Free tickets are released monthly in limited numbers. Sign up early at www.quartersbrighton.co.uk.
