Grammy Award-winning producer and multi-platinum artist Purple Disco Machine has just released his latest single, Die Maschine. The infectious track, laden with groove and introspection, is a prelude to his highly anticipated album Paradise, which drops on Friday, September 20th.
With his many accolades and chart-topping hits, Purple Disco Machine has firmly established himself as one of dance music’s most prominent figures. Paradise will feature collaborations with Nile Rodgers, Metronomy, Jake Shears, Duke Dumont, Sophie and the Giants, Nothing But Thieves, and more. The album’s 15 tracks promise to deliver the uplifting, danceable energy fans have come to expect, taking listeners on a sonic journey to the dancefloor.
Speaking on Die Maschine, Purple Disco Machine shared that it marks a personal milestone as it’s the first song he’s ever created in German. “I never wanted to do a song in German because I thought it would limit me,” he explains. “But collaborating with Friedrich Liechtenstein, an icon in Germany, just felt right.”
The track closes the album with a ‘Paradise’ theme, reflecting on the state of our planet in a thought-provoking yet playful manner. “We wanted to make a statement about what we are doing to our planet, our paradise, without being too political,” he said. The collaboration was spontaneous, with Liechtenstein improvising in the studio and adding a new dimension to the project.
Exploring themes of Paradise and the intersection of man vs machine, Die Maschine features the iconic Hills of Katmandu sample, a nod to Purple Disco Machine’s DJ roots. “As much as I love making music that brings joy, it was important to include a song with a message, and I believe we achieved that with Die Maschine.”
Beyond the studio, Purple Disco Machine’s influence continues to grow globally. His remix of Lizzo’s About Damn Time earned him a Grammy, and his signature tracks like Body Funk, Dished (Male Stripper), and Playbox have become dancefloor staples. His performances have captivated audiences at major festivals like Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Lollapalooza, with recent highlights including a set at Glitterbox’s Glasgow takeover and a hometown show in Dresden that drew a crowd of 12,000.
This autumn, Purple Disco Machine will embark on his Paradise tour, bringing his signature sound across Europe and continuing to solidify his global legacy in the dance music scene.
