Man at Ease return with ‘Wildfire’, a steadily evolving electronic release built around hypnotic grooves, layered melodic tension and emotional depth.
The collaborative project of producer Gijs Quaedvlieg, also known as GISSA, and vocalist Eddie Marks, Man at Ease was formed through a shared desire to move beyond traditional club music structures and create something more immersive and expressive. Across ‘Wildfire’, that vision becomes increasingly clear.
Built on a flowing rhythmic foundation, the track unfolds gradually through expanding synth textures, subtle tension shifts and carefully controlled progression. Rather than relying on immediate peaks, ‘Wildfire’ prioritises atmosphere and momentum, slowly pulling listeners deeper into its dense sonic world.
That balance between electronic movement and emotional songwriting sits at the core of the duo’s identity. Quaedvlieg’s background in rave culture, DJ performance and electronic production merges naturally with Marks’ more melodic and instrumental influences, shaped through classical training in violin and French horn before later moving into songwriting.
Together, the pair blend introspective lyricism with club-rooted production, creating music that feels equally suited to focused listening and late-night dancefloors.
‘Wildfire’ continues that approach with confidence. Melodic layers rise and collapse in waves throughout the arrangement while the groove remains locked in underneath, creating a constant push between restraint and release. The result is immersive without becoming overly dramatic, maintaining a steady emotional pull from beginning to end.
Atmospheric, patient and carefully constructed, ‘Wildfire’ further establishes Man at Ease as a project focused less on formula and more on creating fully realised electronic listening experiences.
