Take Notes opens the year with purpose as Louis Millne delivers the ‘Touched’ EP. A sharp two-track package, the release captures the label’s gritty, forward-driven identity while showcasing Millne’s growing confidence as one of the UK underground’s most reliable club-focused producers. Set for release on 16th January, the EP pairs his original with a remix from label owner Mahony, marking Mahony’s first remix since the label launched. ‘Touched’ is built squarely for the dancefloor. Early 2000s hip-hop vocal fragments sit tightly against gloomy, rolling drums, locking into a stripped-back, minimal tech groove with clear peak-time intent. The track balances raw energy with restraint, pushing momentum without overcrowding the mix, and reflects Millne’s knack for writing functional club records that hold attention over long blends.
The release lands off the back of a strong run for Millne across 2024 and 2025, with releases on Sola, Issues, Take Notes Trax and Short Circuit earning consistent support from names including Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati and Paco Osuna. His collaboration with Alex Culross picked up Arielle Free’s BBC Radio 1 Big Whopper, while recognition as one of Elrow’s Top 10 Up and Coming Artists further underlined his rising profile. Late 2025 saw his Dosmundos release ‘Second Guessing’ reach number three in the Beatport Deep and Minimal Singles Chart, becoming a defining moment in his catalogue.
On remix duties, Mahony takes ‘Touched’ into deeper territory. His version strips the arrangement back, leaning into darker textures, muffled bass and tightly wound drum programming. The groove becomes more hypnotic and controlled, designed for late-night rooms where subtle tension and low-end weight do the heavy lifting. It is a remix that respects the original’s intent while reshaping it through Mahony’s signature club-focused lens.
Early support for the EP has already landed from Max Dean, Prospa, The Martinez Brothers, Misha, Eddy M, Kidoo, Chasewest, Wade, Ilario Alicante, Chad Andrew, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Marco Carola, Cristina Lazic, Yaya, Reelow and more, signalling strong traction ahead of release.
‘Touched’ marks the opening chapter of Millne’s 2026 output, with further releases scheduled on Repopulate Mars and Moan, continuing an increasingly international and focused release run. Alongside his studio work, Millne continues to build momentum as a DJ, with appearances across the UK and Europe, including CIRCUS, Creamfields, ABODE, Kaluki and shows in Ibiza, Romania, the Netherlands and Malta.
