Loopkat returns with ‘Nobody’, a deep and immersive release that continues his evolving journey through groove-led electronic music, following recent single ‘Half Price Sunscreen’.

While earlier material explored spaces between melodic house and techno, ‘Nobody’ leans further into Afro and tribal house influences, delivering a record driven by rhythm, atmosphere and detailed production work.

The groove sits at the centre of everything. Built around a weighty low-end foundation and rolling percussion, the track establishes its momentum early before gradually opening into a richer melodic landscape. Layers of resonant synth work and evolving textures expand around the rhythm, creating a wider atmosphere without disrupting the flow underneath.

The vocal gives the record much of its emotional pull. Rather than acting purely as a hook, it becomes part of the wider arrangement, weaving naturally through the percussion and melodic layers while adding warmth and movement throughout the track.

That balance defines the release. The energy feels substantial and dancefloor-ready, but there’s also a depth running underneath the groove that makes the production feel more immersive than immediate.

Intricate sound design plays a major role here as well. Small details gradually emerge across the arrangement, subtle shifts in texture, atmospheric touches and melodic fragments that keep the track evolving without relying on oversized moments or dramatic transitions.

Loopkat’s wider story adds another layer to the project itself. Originally emerging from the Dutch underground under earlier aliases such as D-Lux and Daan Duurkoop, his work moved through vinyl-focused techno circles before entering a long creative pause. The Loopkat project now feels less like a restart and more like a continuation, carrying those earlier instincts into a more contemporary electronic framework.

With ‘Nobody’, Loopkat delivers a hypnotic and richly layered release built on groove, atmosphere and emotional depth, offering a track that quietly settles in and stays there long after it ends.
