Electronic producer KaeoFLUX puts a heavier spin on Kodomo’s ‘Optimism’ with a driving new remix set to feature on the forthcoming ‘Sisu Remixes’ collection.
Released as part of a monthly remix rollout throughout the summer, the wider project invites artists from across ambient, experimental and techno circles to reinterpret material from Kodomo’s acclaimed ‘Sisu’ album. The result is a collection designed to explore new sonic directions while maintaining a connection to the emotional core of the original work.
For his contribution, KaeoFLUX pushes ‘Optimism’ firmly towards the dancefloor. Built around pounding 909 drums, layered percussion and powerful rhythmic momentum, the remix transforms the source material into a high-energy techno workout without losing its underlying sense of atmosphere.
The producer describes the track as a “kitchen sink” approach to remixing, blending multiple influences and production techniques into a single cohesive statement. Despite its intensity, the remix remains carefully structured, balancing forceful club energy with evolving textures and subtle melodic detail.

The original track comes from Kodomo, the long-running project of electronic composer and producer Chris Child. Across a career spanning IDM, ambient, minimalism and techno, Child has developed a reputation for creating music that feels equally cinematic and emotionally immersive. Beyond his artist work, he is also an Emmy Award-winning television composer whose music has appeared across NPR programming and video game projects developed by Harmonix.
KaeoFLUX’s rework highlights the flexibility of that source material, taking ‘Optimism’ into darker and more physical territory while retaining enough of the original character to feel connected to the wider ‘Sisu’ universe.
