Ilona Maras debuts on Reload Black with her new techno release, “Open Your Mind”

The YellowHeads' record label, Reload drops a steamrolling peak time techno release by Ilona Maras.

Ilona Maras has been a dominating force in 2025, boasting a string of successful releases on influential record labels ranging from Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave to Victor Ruiz's VOLTA.

This two-track release combines hulking basslines with spine-tingling melodies and piledriving percussion. Both tracks embody Ilona Maras' masterful ability to create gripping grooves with full-throttle energy.

Based in Switzerland, Ilona Maras is at the heart of the scene in Zurich, where she is resident DJ at the city's Hive Club. She also plays headline shows across Europe, and has been a breakthrough artist of 2025.

The release's title track, "Open Your Mind" has an earth-shaking bassline and thundering kick drum, laying a foundation for the sparkling melody and eerie vocals. Acid flickers add to the vigour of this heavyweight techno cut.

Next up, "Captive" has an arpeggio bassline that swells with tension, while trippy vocals swirl, and rolling snares burst forth. It's an electro-tinged techno track with a smouldering intensity and a dystopian vibe.
