EAST WEST HONEY officially launch their collaborative project with ‘TAKES TWO’, a high-energy dance release from Lyric Jones and Wake the Wild blending soulful house grooves, electro-pop energy and springtime warmth.

Released via Tempo Soul Records, the single is built around punchy four-on-the-floor drums, filtered house stabs, plucky synth basslines and soulful vocal interplay, creating a sound rooted equally in club movement and melodic accessibility.

Sonically, ‘TAKES TWO’ draws influence from artists such as Disclosure, KAYTRANADA, AlunaGeorge, Purple Disco Machine and SG Lewis, while still maintaining the warmth and playful musicality both artists bring individually.

Written during Coachella season, the track emerged during a particularly creative moment for everyone involved. Lyric Jones had recently released ‘Sunshine’ alongside Moon Boots via Fool's Gold Records, while Wake the Wild were simultaneously building momentum around their Blink EP.

According to Lyric Jones, ‘TAKES TWO’ quickly became more than a standalone collaboration.

“This song felt like a natural meeting point between both of our worlds. It had the groove, the warmth, the playfulness, and the dancefloor energy we were all craving at the time.”

“It also became the song that made us realize there was something bigger here, not just one collaboration, but a whole sound, a whole project, and eventually EAST WEST HONEY.”

Bright, energetic and designed for movement, ‘TAKES TWO’ arrives as a confident first statement from a project clearly built around chemistry, shared influence and dancefloor connection.
