DJ Suzy Releases Debut Album ‘Kira Krash’ And Shares ‘dream’ Video
Stockholm-based vocalist and producer DJ Suzy has released her debut album ‘Kira Krash’, a 13-track record that draws alternative pop, R&B, breakbeat and leftfield electronics into a vivid world of its own. The release arrives alongside a new video for ‘dream’ and news of US headline shows in March 2027.
Named after an alter ego that DJ Suzy first imagined in 2019, ‘Kira Krash’ explores the tension between a carefully constructed fantasy and the feelings that refuse to stay hidden beneath it. Its production shifts between bright synthetic textures, G-funk basslines and more unsettled passages, with a distinct thread of video-game nostalgia running through the tracklist.
The record includes ‘sw33t’, previously revisited in a remix by Nourished By Time, alongside ‘why did i say i loved you?’, ‘end scene’ and ‘bowser loves peach’. Across its 13 tracks, DJ Suzy moves between intimate songwriting and restless electronic arrangements without committing to a single club or pop formula.
The accompanying ‘dream’ video was directed by Nemo Hinders and filmed in Gothenburg, using scenery originally built for a theatrical production of George Orwell’s ‘1984’. Its uncanny visual setting reflects the album’s preoccupation with identity, escapism and the distance between imagination and reality.
A trained choral singer and composer, DJ Suzy has developed a sound informed as much by layered vocal arrangements as by contemporary electronic production. Following the album’s release, she is due to perform in Paris and Stockholm before heading to the United States for a run of headline dates next March.
With ‘Kira Krash’, DJ Suzy introduces a debut that feels deliberately difficult to pin down, balancing playful digital references with moments of genuine vulnerability. It is that contrast, rather than any single genre, that gives the record its identity.
