Three men pose in a lush tropical garden, wearing bold patterned clothes, a black hat, and sunglasses, with calm expressions.

Desert Hearts have teamed up with Techno Tupac for new single ‘HTL’, a driving club-focused release that places the collective’s long-standing “House, Techno, Love” philosophy directly at the centre of the record. Buy/Stream it here: https://music.empi.re/htldeserthearts.

Built around rolling low-end pressure, hypnotic vocal refrains and raw late-night energy, ‘HTL’ captures the communal spirit that has defined Desert Hearts since the collective first emerged from underground desert parties in California more than a decade ago. Designed firmly with the dancefloor in mind, the track balances stripped-back intensity with infectious rhythmic momentum, leaning into the kind of sweaty 4AM atmosphere that has become synonymous with the brand’s events and releases.

The single arrives shortly after the release of Desert Hearts’ California EP, which saw the founding members formally unite under one shared artist identity for the first time. Speaking to Billboard around the project, Mikey Lion explained that the collective has always operated most naturally as a collaborative unit rather than as separate individuals.

That sense of togetherness continues to shape the wider Desert Hearts ecosystem, which has evolved from intimate Mojave Desert gatherings into an internationally recognised label, festival and community centred around connection, openness and underground dance culture.

Joining the collective on ‘HTL’ is Techno Tupac, whose rapid rise has positioned him as one of the more distinctive voices within the current US house and tech-house landscape. Blending hip-hop influence with club-focused production, the Los Angeles artist has built a reputation through energetic DJ sets, charismatic vocal work and releases across labels including Dirtybird, South of Saturn and Space Yacht.

Support from artists such as Green Velvet, Tchami and Chris Lorenzo has further accelerated that momentum, alongside appearances at major festivals including Coachella, Electric Forest and Lightning in a Bottle.

Together, Desert Hearts and Techno Tupac deliver a track that feels both immediate and reflective of the wider culture surrounding the collective itself. ‘HTL’ does not overcomplicate its purpose. Instead, it channels energy, movement and shared experience into a direct and effective dancefloor statement.
