US Disco pioneer D.C. LaRue returns to the spotlight as his classic Seventies album ‘Cathedrals’ arrives on Dafia Records with a fresh, confident new identity. The original recordings, now half a century old, have been treated with real care and rebuilt by a group of leading contemporary disco producers who manage to keep the soul of the music intact while giving it a modern vibe. The result feels alive, vibrant and ready for today’s dance floors, with every track carrying that special energy, flair and musicianship that made LaRue a defining figure of the era.

The Reflex steps in with two standout reworks of ‘I Will Still Be Here For You’ and ‘Do Not Want To Lose You’. His approach keeps the richness of the original arrangements while adding his unmistakable French touch, giving both songs a renewed sense of movement and clarity. Another major name in the current disco scene appears under the alias Unorthodox, delivering a powerful reinterpretation of the beloved title track ‘Cathedrals’. His version lifts the song into a new space while staying true to its emotional core. To complete the release, Dafia Records founder Mannix offers his own take on ‘I Will Still Be Here For You’. His version leans into warm textures, smooth grooves and a bright, uplifting feel that fits perfectly with the spirit of the project. Together, these producers create a full tribute that honours LaRue’s legacy while opening the door for new listeners to discover his work. This collection is more than a set of remixes. It is a celebration of a groundbreaking artist and a reminder of how timeless great Disco music can be when treated with respect and imagination.
