Moog Conspiracy's record label, Elektrotribe Records presents a trippy techno EP by Boom Merchant, who delivers three tracks with his usual trademark groove and raw underground sound.
Boom Merchant ended 2025 with a remix on Elektrotribe Records, and starts 2026 with his first solo release on the imprint, which combines gritty percussion and hypnotic synths.
Born in Ireland and currently based in Mexico, Boom Merchant spent many years living in Scotland, where he played regularly at many of Glasgow's underground techno parties. His skills behind the decks earned him international gigs in places like Japan and Germany.
This release shows off his production skills, and his music has been released by record labels such as Autektone Dark, Raw Worx, and his own imprint, Tribal Pulse.
"Operativo" is the title track, and it opens with a rolling bassline and jackin' percussion, while tense vocal textures build suspense within its hypnotic groove.
Next up, "Hang Time" kicks off with dubby percussion that hits hard when the kick drum is introduced, then the swirling lead synth takes control with its trippy euphoria.
Rounding off the EP, "Inhale Exhale" has a grinding bassline underpinning bouncy percussion, and wispy textures create eerie tension.
