Alok makes his debut on Hellbent Records with ‘My Own Thang’, a two-track EP that sees him lean further into club-driven territory.
The release marks a clear shift in direction. Known for large-scale productions, Alok steps into a more stripped, groove-focused space here, aligning with Hellbent’s sound while maintaining his own identity. The result feels direct, built with the dancefloor in mind.
‘My Own Thang (To The Beat)’ opens the EP. Teaming up with Sophiegrophy and Walker & Royce, the track locks into a tight, percussive groove driven by bold vocal delivery and controlled low-end pressure. It’s immediate and functional, designed to hit quickly and hold energy.
The second track shifts the focus. On ‘Grip Slippin’, Alok links with InntRaw for a heavier, bass-driven cut. A growling low end anchors the track, while hook-led vocals and driving rhythms push it firmly into peak-time territory.
That contrast defines the EP. It balances vocal-led groove with more aggressive, bass-focused energy, offering two tracks that work across different moments in a set.
The release also reflects Hellbent’s expanding global reach, bringing together a mix of established and rising artists while continuing to build momentum across the international club scene.
With ‘My Own Thang’, Alok delivers a focused club EP that reinforces his versatility while stepping confidently into a more underground space.
