Aamir Zee arrives on the Undrscovered mix series at a point where everything feels aligned.

His recent ‘On Time’ EP on Boogeyman, the sister imprint of Cuttin’ Headz, marks a clear shift. After building momentum as one half of Late Delivery, this release signals a more focused, individual direction. One that carries the same groove-led foundation but opens up space for a more personal identity.

“Releasing as part of Late Delivery was an important chapter for me creatively, but stepping out solo felt like a natural evolution. I wanted the freedom to fully explore my own sound, instincts, and workflow without compromise.”

That clarity runs through both sides of the EP.

Title track ‘On Time’ leans into tight percussion, rolling basslines and a hypnotic vocal that locks the groove in place, while ‘Roses’ moves into deeper territory, stretching the space and pulling back the energy without losing intent.

“That contrast came together organically during the production process. I wanted the EP to feel dynamic and emotional rather than one-dimensional.”

That same balance shapes his Undrscovered guest mix.

Built around flow rather than moments, the set moves with purpose, starting from groove and letting the energy build naturally without forcing transitions. It reflects the same mindset that underpins his production approach.

“It started with the groove, specifically building a tight drum foundation that could carry energy without over producing.”

Boogeyman’s identity sits firmly in groove-led house, and stepping into that world required a careful balance between fitting the label’s sound and maintaining individuality.

“I focused heavily on the groove and flow of the track while keeping my own musical personality at the core.”

Starting from rhythm allowed him to anchor the track in that space while still pushing into his own ideas.

“Starting with the kick and bassline allowed me to lock in on that Boogeyman energy, while still giving myself the space to explore and experiment.”

That approach carries into the mix itself, where selection and pacing do the heavy lifting.

There is no rush to peak moments. No overworked transitions. Just a steady build driven by groove, texture and control.

Away from the studio, Zee’s journey continues to evolve geographically as well as musically.

After spending years immersed in Los Angeles’ house scene, he has now returned to Washington, DC, bringing that experience into a more focused personal phase.

“I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of the LA house scene for a few years and to have met so many talented and inspiring people during that chapter.”

That shift has sharpened his intention.

“Now that I’m back home in Washington, DC, my focus has shifted toward building something deeply personal and intentional.”

What he wants listeners to take from this next chapter is simple.

“I want people to hear authenticity, purpose, and consistency in everything I release.”

The Undrscovered mix captures that in real time.

A groove first approach. A clear sense of direction. And an artist stepping into his own space without overcomplicating the process.
