The track marks a noticeable shift in direction. While previous releases leaned more towards groove-led electronic territory, ‘Pink Dress’ pushes into something more direct and raw, pulling in dance-punk elements without losing its club focus. The result feels looser, more immediate, and built around energy as much as structure.

That change is driven largely by Cherry Chola’s vocal presence. Her delivery moves freely across the production, adapting to the track’s shifting tone while maintaining a clear sense of identity. It’s a dynamic that has become central to their partnership, and one that is set to carry into 1tbsp’s upcoming album ‘big soaps’.

The production itself stays sharp and intentional. Rhythmic elements remain tight, but there’s more space for grit and texture, giving the track a live, almost band-like feel. That direction is reinforced in the accompanying video, filmed in Sydney with a full performance setup, which effectively translates the track’s energy into a physical setting.

‘Pink Dress’ arrives alongside a broader range of activities. 1tbsp is preparing to release his new album later this year, alongside a North American tour, a debut appearance at Coachella, and a month-long residency at Phonox.

As a preview of what’s to come, the single highlights a broader creative direction, one that moves more freely across styles while keeping the focus on movement and impact.
