  • Mistier continue their visual series with an ethereal new mix, ‘Aren’s Prelude’

Aren US-based, electronic music collective Mistier has released 'Melodic Frequencies 009: Aren's Prelude’, a creative collaboration between Andre Mistier (music director, writer, creative director), Allison Harrell Mistier (visual/creative director, writer, character designer) and renowned animator Jeremy Nixon of Nixon Animation. For the first time, the popular DJ mix series has evolved into a fully animated, hour-long cinematic experience, soundtracked by cutting-edge melodic house and electronic grooves. Watch it exclusively on Mistier's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@MistierMusic. This is more than a DJ mix; it's a first look inside Borderless Magnitudes, a universe where every track becomes a scene, every transition a new emotion, and every visual a window into something larger. 'Melodic Frequencies 009' introduces Aren, an anime-styled character on a cosmic journey to find connection, love, and meaning across surreal, ever-shifting landscapes. Soundtracked by the latest, high-quality melodic house and electronic grooves, this is music and art designed for deep listening and immersive viewing. Whether through headphones on a solo expedition or with friends, projected onto a big screen as the night unfolds into something more mind-expanding, the audio-visual experience sparks questions and fires the imagination. The hour-long mix provides time and space to relax into a place where the boundaries between sound, vision, and consciousness dissolve as the viewer joins Aren on his odyssey. Jeremy Nixon brings his signature style to Mistier's vision; a fusion of fluid character animation and abstract, consciousness-expanding visuals that has seen him in demand with the likes of Netflix and Amazon. This is not AI-generated content, it’s hand-created animation with thought and meaning that evolves as Aren’s journey continues. Nixon explains, “Mistier is trying to communicate huge, somewhat abstract ideas of love, connection, and the cosmic. Animation is the only way you can visualise such heady concepts in a digestible way." Each of the 14 tracks - including Mistier originals 'Modern Sanctuary', 'Everyone (We All Need Love)', and 'The Spark', alongside cuts from Innellea, Cristoph, Vintage Culture, and more - becomes a moment in Aren's travels as he moves with a mysterious purpose through euphoric peaks and introspective valleys. This is the next step in Mistier’s mission to create connection through music and art in a way that both unifies and inspires. Future episodes will see further collaboration as the Borderless Magnitudes universe expands and more characters are introduced, all set to an uplifting soundtrack of the best new electronic music. As Mistier explain, "This is a new kind of story. Each song, each visual, is a step on Aren’s journey to find connection, love, and meaning in a universe that’s both familiar and fantastical. This is the first glimpse of a larger world - one where music and animation merge to create something wholly original.” In a time of cut-and-paste, derivative creativity, Mistier invite people to experience something different. • Tensal's new techno EP ‘Behind Consciousness' lands on Concrete Records LTD

Tensal Spanish producer Tensal, makes a welcome return to Concrete Records. Behind Consciousness is a four-track vinyl-only EP that captures his signature balance between physical energy and deep, meditative control. Having released on influential imprints such as Slam’s Soma, Oscar Mulero’s Warm Up, Bas Mooy’s Mord, and Emmanuel’s ARTS, Tensal continues to refine a sound that sits confidently between functional precision and hypnotic abstraction. The title track, “Behind Consciousness,” opens with a sense of quiet propulsion, where its clipped percussion and angular bleeps unfold patiently, each layer drawing you deeper into its measured tension. “Itaewon” follows with darker contours, its chugging rhythm wrapped in foggy atmospheres and restless synth motions that give the track a brooding, nocturnal character. On “Mandrax,” Tensal introduces warmth and motion, pairing a bouncing low-end with metallic details that shimmer and twist through the mix. The result feels alive, subtle but dynamic, evoking movement without aggression. Finally, “Foeh” closes the record with an almost introspective grace, its stuttering kick pattern and spacious design guiding the listener toward a weightless, suspended state. Throughout Behind Consciousness, Tensal demonstrates his mastery of restraint. Each sound feels precisely placed; every rhythm given room to breathe. It’s techno that rewards patience, it’s immersive, textural, and crafted with an understated confidence. With this release, Italy’s Concrete Records once again affirms its commitment to timeless, cerebral club music built for both motion and reflection. You can buy the release HERE.

  • Dianthe drops dark and driving techno EP, “Intrusion”

Dianthe Dianthe drops a dark and intense techno EP via, The Aura of Music, which alongside her two original tracks also includes a solo rework from Monococ, and a three-way collaborative remix by B'NATURE, Oshman, and URVNIUM. Living on the West Coast of America, Dianthe has an ominous style combining dark atmospherics with thundering drums and intense melodies. This is her debut on The Aura of Music, which is a new and exciting imprint on its third release. Dianthe's music has also been a feature of other record labels, ranging from Alula Tunes to SOLID AUDIO. Before turning her hand to techno, Dianthe was a classically trained pianist with a passion for metal and heavy rock music. Her techno tracks combine the raw aggression of metal with the intricate melodies of her piano training, and the outcome is dark and cinematic. On remix duty, B'NATURE, Oshman and URVNIUM are a trio of artists who recently teamed up to release an album on Psy4Aliens, then a follow up EP on The Aura of Music. This remix is in their usual style, which sits between minimal and peak time techno, powered by looming suspense and throbbing tones. The second remix is by Monococ, who's a trance artist turned techno producer. His twisted tracks have a sinister vibe with undertones of euphoria, and they have been played by DJs ranging from Richie Hawtin to UMEK. Monococ's music has been released by respected labels such as Phunk Traxx, Fierce Animal Recordings, and Music4Aliens. The title track, "Intrusion," has a pumping groove with spiralling synths and dystopian pads, which are cut by a captivating vocal with forewarning lyrics. Monococ's remix of "Intrusion" lifts the energy with a rolling bassline and more prominent kick drum, which is augmented by an exhilarating arpeggio line. "Strange Games" is the second of the originals, and it has a pulsating bassline and eerie pads, layered with juddering melodies and a hammering kick drum. The remix by B'NATURE, Oshman, and URVNIUM works in a new bassline, and strips back the drums to create an atmospheric version that's true to the vibe of the original. Buy the release here.
