North London imprint QRUK reaches its twentieth release with ‘Our Eyes’ EP, a new two-track offering from label head Tommy Sunsets, joined by a remix from Stepco.
Known for a darker, bass-driven sound that leans into techno and speed garage territory, Tommy shifts the dial slightly on QRUK020. ‘Our Eyes’ keeps the low-end weight and late-night atmosphere that defines his catalogue, but introduces a more house-focused groove. Rolling rhythms and hypnotic repetition shape the track’s core, giving it a warmer edge without losing the tension that has become a QRUK hallmark.
It feels like a natural progression rather than a reinvention. The drums remain tight and purposeful, the bassline steady and physical, but there is more space in the arrangement, allowing the groove to breathe and unfold across the mix.
‘KC-500’ follows with a reflective tone. Built around a deep, bass-led foundation and swinging percussion, it carries a subtle summer mood while staying firmly club-ready. The track balances restraint and forward motion with control, locking into an effortless flow that rewards longer blends.
On remix duties, Stepco offers a deeper and more melodic take on ‘Our Eyes’. His rework introduces added musical warmth and a refined touch, expanding the emotional range while maintaining dancefloor focus.
Since launching QRUK in 2020, Tommy Sunsets has shaped the label into a platform that bridges rolling techno, nostalgic speed garage and bass-heavy club cuts. Through his own releases and regular sets on Voices Radio, he has carved out a distinct identity for both himself and the imprint. QRUK020 stands as a confident milestone, reflecting growth while remaining rooted in the underground foundations that first defined the label.
