UK producer Sonnee is riding a well-earned wave of momentum. With support from BBC Radio 1, Beatport, DJ Mag and a string of hyped-up club shows behind him, the Manchester-born, London-based artist is now entering the next chapter with the release of his new EP, “innershy”.
This three-track release brings together his previous singles “Pollen” and “Heartfalls” (feat. Khazali) with the new focus track “u+i” – a euphoric, emotionally charged dance track designed for hazy nights, golden-hour afterglows and the quiet moments in between. With pulsing energy and deep vulnerability, Sonnee blends club power with personal depth – a sound that doesn’t ask you to choose between moving and feeling.
“u+i” is the final release from the EP and marks its emotional high point: warm synth textures wrap around punchy bass and hypnotic vocal chops, as Sonnee captures the tension between connection and confusion, presence and distance. It’s a song about holding on, even when you’re unsure where you stand – “That always leaves me wondering whether we stand for something / if baby it’s you and I.”
The production amplifies the emotional weight of those lyrics – immersive, enveloping, with a rhythmic drive that pulls you to the floor while whispering to something deeper. It’s a track built for the club, but with the kind of intimacy you take home with you. "I've embraced my innershy across this collection of three songs,” Sonnee says of the EP. The result is a sonic release – cathartic, honest, danceable. These songs need no grand gestures to leave a deep impact. It's music that turns warm feelings into warm frequencies – or as Sonnee puts it: “warm colors into sound.”

"innershy' is out now on Warner, get it here: https://wmg.click/innershy. You can catch Sonnee live this summer at his own club night SOLAA, which returns on August 8 for its biggest edition yet at the legendary Hootananny Brixton.
