Shaping Sounds: The Tracks That Sparked the Vision Behind Yotto Records

Man with braided hair and sunglasses looks down, wearing a black shirt and beaded necklace. Bright yellow background. Moody vibe.

Yotto Records is more than just another label launch. It’s the result of years of exploration, trial and error, and a deep-rooted love for dance music in all its forms. Founded by French artists Alya, Simon Erar and TEUS, the label is designed as a space for creative freedom, where groove meets grit and where polished productions don’t come at the cost of raw expression. Their mission? To push boundaries, break formulas and celebrate a sound that’s sharp, bold and defiantly different.

To trace the roots of Yotto, you have to look at the tracks that shaped its foundation. Alya, one of the co-founders, has pulled together a handpicked selection that maps his personal influences - from futuristic minimal to emotional closers, gritty edits to genre-defining classics. These aren’t just tunes he likes. They’re tracks that helped him build the aesthetic, energy and ethos behind Yotto Records.

“Here’s a selection of tracks that played a key role in shaping my vision and sound and ultimately inspired the launch of Yotto Records. From raw energy to deep artistic exploration, each of these tracks left a mark on my creative process.” - Alya

Wheats - It Iz Done

Wheats has been the most inspiring artist for me over the past three years. His music has fueled my entire creative journey and is one of the main reasons I felt the urge to start Yotto. This track perfectly captures the kind of energy and aesthetic that pushed me to take that leap.

Bagarre - Le gouffre (Yan Wagner Belgian Trip)

I’ve always drawn a lot of inspiration from 70s to 90s rock and pop. This electro-heavy remix by Yan Wagner carries a raw, old-school texture I absolutely love. Play it at 130 BPM, and you’ve got a spacey banger that can flip any dancefloor mid-set.

Hollis P. Monroe - I´m Lonely

One of my favourite tracks to close a set. It’s so melodic and emotional—I honestly listen to it every week, almost daily. It reminds me of the essence of music: raw emotion.

Traumer - Luxuria

Probably the most inspiring track I’ve come across recently. It’s a true piece of art—both technically and creatively. It became a personal challenge for me to reach that same level of quality and detail in my own productions.

Per Hammar - Released Dubb (Mihai Popoviciu Remix)

A true masterclass in composition. Nothing is left to chance—everything is dialed in with precision and taste. Mihai Popoviciu is always a safe bet when you’re looking for perfectly crafted minimal tracks.

TAKE NOTES - CUTZ 01

Back to my roots—rock and old-school pop aesthetics. This edit flips and samples in unexpected ways, creating a cinematic kind of tension. It’s been a big inspiration when I feel like breaking out of classic structures.

PAWSA - HANDZ UP

This PAWSA banger is a major inspiration because it proves you can make a hit with almost nothing. It flows effortlessly from start to finish—an absolute dancefloor weapon.

Floating Points - Last Bloom

I’ll close with the most technically sophisticated track I’ve ever heard. Nothing more to say—just massive respect to Floating Points for this masterpiece.

With the ‘Landed Sampler’ dropping on 20th June, Yotto Records sets the tone for what’s to come: forward-thinking music with serious club weight and zero compromises. Pre-order/save it here: https://ffm.to/ytt001.

The compilation features contributions from rising talent across Europe and beyond, including cuts from Color.Love, TEUS, Alya, Simon Erar, raF., Ms. Elin Liso, and more. It’s a clear signal that Yotto isn’t interested in playing it safe. This is music built for open minds, late nights and dancefloors that crave something different.
