Sergik and Frank Terry return to Mise en Place Records with a hypnotic new release, ‘Repeat’, featuring the unmistakable voice of DiscoFlip. Out now, the single delves into a meditative late-night energy that sits somewhere between minimal tech-house and modern deep house.
Built around a repetitive, almost ritualistic vocal hook from DiscoFlip, “meditating, eating, baking, dancing, going out, partying, loving, yoga, repeat,” the track unfolds with precision and patience. It’s not trying to peak. It’s not built for drama. It’s built to lock you in.
That mantra guides the entire structure of the track. It rolls forward on a tight, shuffling groove and a subtle bassline, with delicate percussive textures adding movement in the background. There’s no excess. Every element feels functional, yet carefully placed. It’s a heads-down cut, the sort that DJs reach for in the transition moments when they want to hypnotise rather than explode.
Frank Terry and Sergik have been steadily crafting a reputation for raw, unflashy club records that resonate on the floor. Their shared taste leans towards groove-driven, minimalist house with bags of swing. You can hear that across ‘Repeat’. It’s warm, unfussy and deeply listenable. One of those tracks that works in the warm-up just as well as it does mid-set.
DiscoFlip’s vocal elevates it into something a little more memorable. Equal parts tongue-in-cheek and genuinely introspective, it gives the tune a narrative pulse that sticks.
Released on 11 July via Mise en Place Records, this one quietly commands attention. ‘Repeat’ is not about impact. It’s about control, mood, and flow. And it absolutely nails it.
