Taipei-born and Amsterdam-based producer Nathan Alzon is stepping into a new chapter with the release of his five-track EP ‘The Getdown’ on Enzo Siragusa’s LOCUS.
Released on 3rd October 2025, the project captures the groove, swing and sharp energy that have defined Alzon’s recent sets and studio output. It’s a bold label debut, and one that connects the dots between his roots, his rise, and the new sound shaping Europe’s underground. Buy/stream it here: bfan.link/danger-zone-ep.
“I’ve admired Enzo’s work for a long time,” he says. “FUSE was one of the first labels that influenced my early productions. When my team managed to get a few of my tracks over to him, I didn’t hesitate. I’m really thankful to him and the LOCUS crew for making this happen.”
The EP opens with the title track ‘The Getdown’, a heavyweight cut built on low-end drive and UKG-inspired movement. ‘Move Your Body’ keeps the pressure up with slick percussion and vocal chops, while ‘Hot Stuff’ injects tight drums and skipping rhythm into the mix. On the flip, ‘X TO C’ dives into acid-soaked late-night moods, before ‘Here’s The House’ signs off with rolling, stripped-back groove.
“The tracks all came from the same creative period,” Alzon explains. “I was in a party mood at the time. They shared a similar energy, so it made sense to group them together. I never plan too much in advance – I just make what feels right.”
That instinctive process has been key to Alzon’s rise. Born in Taipei, he later made Amsterdam his base, where his profile grew through standout sets at Shelter and Thuishaven. Releases on ANOTR’s No Art and Yaya’s Tamango Records have earned him support from Chris Stussy, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Enzo Siragusa himself.
“Taipei will always be home,” he says. “It shaped who I am. I even started a label called Tapioca as a nod to bubble tea and where I come from. But Amsterdam is where I really learned about house music. It’s where things started clicking creatively, and it keeps inspiring me.”
That sense of place has shaped his connection with the dancefloor too. “Playing Thuishaven and Shelter is always special,” he says. “There’s something unique about the Amsterdam crowd. Once they’re locked in, the energy you get back is unreal. Some of my favourite sets have been here.”
With ‘The Getdown’, Alzon shows how far that energy can travel. It’s his most complete work to date – playful, direct and full of character. “My taste has evolved a lot,” he admits. “I feel more confident playing my own music now. This EP really feels aligned with the sound I want to push.”
He’s already looking ahead. “I’ve been experimenting with different ideas, just letting things flow. There’s a vinyl release coming at the end of the year with Elijah Something, plus remixes from Wilba and Monica Venturella. I’m really excited for that one.”
For an artist building his identity around rhythm and spontaneity, ‘The Getdown’ feels like a defining step. It captures the pulse of the new LOCUS generation – house music rooted in soul, but driven by the energy of the moment.
