Italy's Luca Guerrieri ramps up the funkiness with ‘The Box’, a new single on his own DVS Records that leans confidently into the producer’s long standing connection to groove driven House. The track is built around a funky disco influenced guitar motif that gives the production its central identity, supported by a playful chopped vocal loop that adds movement without overwhelming the arrangement. Layers of rising synths and tightly controlled builds push the energy forward, while the rhythm section delivers the kind of punch that has become a hallmark of Guerrieri’s club focused work. The result is a track designed to lift the atmosphere in peak time settings, balancing musicality with a direct dance floor sensibility.
Guerrieri has been an active presence in Italian electronic music since the mid nineties, working as both a DJ and producer while also running Double Vision Studios and co‑owning Claps Records. His catalogue spans a wide range of House styles, and his productions have reached audiences well beyond Italy. ‘Only You’ was reworked by Fatboy Slim into the club hit ‘Role Model’, while releases such as ‘Harmony’ earned support from Pete Tong and Danny Howard, including a number one position on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Chart. His reinterpretation of the Tuscan folk song ‘Maremma Amara’ appeared on the Buddha Bar XXV compilation, and tracks including ‘Tears’ and ‘Flow’ have been played on the main stage at Tomorrowland.
Alongside his solo output, Guerrieri has collaborated with artists such as Mr V, Federico Scavo, Tommy Vee, Meri and Rona Ray, and has delivered remixes for Bob Sinclar, Marshal Jefferson, Cappella, Azoto, Watermat and Dirty Vegas. His DJ schedule has taken him across Italy’s major clubs and festivals, as well as international appearances at venues including Privilege and Sankeys in Ibiza, Cielo in Dubai and Carrusel Club in Sofia.
