A true powerhouse of the genre, Kathy Brown delivers another masterclass in vocal performance with her rich, gospel-infused tones riding high over a funk-driven groove and lush keys courtesy of SSO. It’s a feel-good, peak-time-ready nugget that blends classic house vibes with a fresh floor-filling energy. Adding to the package, long-time SSO collaborator Ricky Morrison steps in with his S.K.O.D. Edit, delivering a stripped-back dub version that hits hard with a deep, percussive vibe.

Originally hailing from South Carolina, Brown first broke through as the lead vocalist of Praxis before going solo and delivering a string of club hits, including the 1999 US dance chart smash ‘Joy’ and 2004’s ‘Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)’ with Soul Central, a rework of the classic Rhythm Is Rhythm anthem. With countless features and collaborations across decades, Kathy Brown has firmly cemented her legacy as one of house music’s most celebrated voices.
