Ten years deep in the game, Melon Bomb are still keeping it strictly vibes.
From Pikes to HÏ Ibiza, they've soundtracked countless wild nights and sunny afternoons - all with that signature mix of house, soul and low-key mischief. Now, the Ibiza favourites are levelling up with the launch of their own label - Melon Bomb Records.
Their first release, a two-tracker led by the sun-drenched 'Sunshine' and backed by the darker, club-focused 'Underground', lands just as the island wakes up for summer. We caught up with the crew to talk about the new imprint, ten years of chaos, and what's next for one of the White Isle's most beloved collectives.
Melon Bomb - Sunshine
We had to lead with this as it's our first release on our much-awaited label! It's just perfect house music to destroy a sun-drenched terrace.
Hector Couto - El House
This is a new track out on Cecille; we can't stop playing at the minute that vocal just lives in our head!
Fletch - Play House
This has been in our bag for a while now. It's a really good solid house track that is right on the Melon Bomb tip!
Eastown – Momentum
This is quite a new release on Dennis Cruz's label. We love Eastown productions; they hover a really cool line between underground and fun house music! Such a groove this one.
Melon Bomb – To The Underground
This is the second track on our first EP, which is out now! It explores the deeper side of our sound and has been doing damage in our sets over the past few months.
Carlita and Andre Zimmer – Raf
Wow, this just bangs. It's a full-on peak-time track with a killer vocal. I imagine this will be on our bags for a long time.
Dimmish - Play My Game
This is another massive track from one of our favourite producers, Dimmish. This guy just never fails.
D Stone – Bang
D Stone delivers again with this EP. We have been playing all the tracks from it but this one is a standout with that familiar sample.
Big Miz - Piano Banger
This does exactly what it says on the tin! Big Miz nails it every time.
Demi Requisimo, Clint Love – State
This is a new track out on our good friend Demi's Semi Delicious. His productions are always solid - with this being one of our favourites! It just evokes some incredible feelings when it's played.
Melon Bomb aren't chasing trends. They're building a legacy!
The launch of Melon Bomb Records isn't just about releasing music - it's about owning their story on their terms and giving something back to the scene that shaped them.
If 'Sunshine' is anything to go by, the next chapter will be just as fun, fearless and full of heat.
