Sydney producer Elroy steps up for his debut release on Jhojho’s Techords with ‘Goodies’, a raw and groove-led cut that comes backed by a fierce remix from the label boss himself. The original mix sees Elroy bring his textured deep tech and minimal influences to the table. Centred around a familiar 00s hip hop vocal, it moves with shuffling percussion, skippy grooves and a warm low end that gives it drive. It is slick, functional and full of personality, reflecting Elroy’s fast-growing reputation for club-focused production that hits with both style and intent.
On the remix, Jhojho strips the track down and toughens it up. His take leans into the rolling side of tech house, built for late nights and loud rooms. The vocal is flipped and filtered around thick drums and a tight bass groove, creating a track that oozes dance floor character. It is another standout from the Greek producer and Techords head, whose releases have helped shape the label into one of the UK’s most trusted underground platforms.
For Elroy, ‘Goodies’ marks an important step in a breakthrough year. Known for his glitchy deep tech sound, he is leading a new wave of Australian artists bringing raw groove back to the club scene.
