TEG Europe is proud to present Eat Static at The Globe in Cardiff on Thursday 16th October 2025. This will be the band’s first Cardiff performance in over a decade, returning to the same venue that hosted their last show in 2014. Fans can look forward to an electrifying night filled with hypnotic beats, immersive visuals, and the signature sound that has defined Eat Static’s pioneering career in electronic music. Advance tickets are now available from Skiddle priced from £23.20.

Originally formed in 1989 by Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton, Eat Static quickly became one of the UK’s first live techno outfits. Their performances were groundbreaking, setting them apart from the norm with their truly live approach to electronic music at a time when mimed sets were commonplace. Over the decades, they have built a loyal global following through headline performances at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Ozora, as well as club nights and international tours. Their live shows are renowned for their spectacular production, including mesmerizing light displays and their iconic giant illuminated brain, which has stunned audiences for years.

Eat Static’s early releases on Alien Records laid the foundation for their unique, unpredictable sound. They later signed to Planet Dog, where albums like Abduction made a lasting impact. The band has collaborated with legendary artists such as Steve Hillage, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Tangerine Dream’s Steve Joliffe, solidifying their place in electronic music history.

Merv Pepler, now steering Eat Static as a solo act, continues to push creative boundaries. With his deep dive into modular synthesis that add to a growing collection, every track performed from the rig is fluid, never from presets or off-the-shelf samples, and never predictable.

The Globe in Cardiff is the perfect setting for Eat Static’s return. With its intimate yet electric atmosphere, the venue continues to host some of the best live music acts around.

Fans should act quickly to secure tickets, as demand is expected to be high for this highly anticipated return. Expect a dynamic performance infused with high-energy electronic beats and a visual spectacle that will transport into another dimension.
