WOLF has welcomed Italian house stalwart DJ Soch to the label with the release of WOLFEP088, a four-track EP that pairs soulful club energy with deep, groove-led house music. You can grab your copy here.
Out today (24th July), the release marks DJ Soch's first appearance on the imprint. Active since the mid-1980s, the producer, DJ and Black Angus Records founder has spent more than four decades developing a sound influenced by Chicago house, Detroit techno, disco, funk and hip-hop, while playing a key role in Italy's underground electronic music scene through his long-running residency at Serendipity.
Leading the EP is 'Let Me Tell You', a powerful slice of soulful house driven by skipping drums, warm keys, church organ stabs and an irresistible bassline. A heartfelt male vocal sits at the centre of the record, delivering the kind of uplifting, late-night energy that has long defined classic US house music. Accompanying it is the Power Mix, which strips back the vocal to place even greater emphasis on the track's rich instrumentation and soaring organ work.
On the flip, 'Chewing Gum' shifts into deeper territory with a hypnotic groove built for extended club sessions. The original is joined by a remix from Prince Palmer, who injects the track with unmistakable 1990s US garage influences while maintaining its understated dancefloor appeal. The result is a reinterpretation that pays homage to the golden era of labels such as Strictly Rhythm without feeling confined by nostalgia.
With WOLFEP088, DJ Soch makes an assured debut on one of house music's most respected underground labels, delivering a collection that balances soulful warmth, timeless grooves and club-ready functionality.
