Charlotte De Witte Announces ‘Azadi’ EP Featuring AI Vocalist NAVA

Charlotte de Witte has announced ‘Azadi’, a three-track EP made with NAVA, an AI-generated Persian vocalist created by British-Iranian artist Farbod Mehr. It lands on 5th November through her KNTXT label, with proceeds going to women's rights organisation FEMENA.
The EP features ‘Azadi’, ‘Omid’ and ‘Tales Of The Desert’. De Witte has already shared a preview of the latter on Instagram, accompanied by AI-generated visuals featuring both artists.
NAVA was created to represent Iranian women who are prevented from singing publicly. Drawing on Iranian art and musical traditions, the virtual performer has developed an audience of her own since launching in 2025. ‘Azadi’ translates to ‘freedom’ in Persian, while ‘Omid’ means ‘hope’. The message behind those titles is central to the collaboration.
All proceeds from the release will support FEMENA, which works with women human rights defenders and feminist movements across Southwest Asia, North Africa and Asia.
The project has also prompted discussion about the role of AI-generated voices in music. Some listeners have questioned the decision to use a synthetic vocalist, while others have welcomed the intention behind NAVA and the support for Iranian women's rights.
‘Azadi’ arrives on 5th November via KNTXT. You can watch the official ‘Tales Of The Desert’ preview and find the release through the links below.
