Australian producer ZUSO has revealed his self-titled debut EP, bringing together a year of collaborative releases while introducing brand-new single ‘Breath’ featuring fellow Australian artist jnr.
Released on 8th July, the five-track collection represents the culmination of a carefully planned rollout that has seen ZUSO steadily introduce his evolving melodic progressive house sound through collaborations with Matilda Pearl, Keelan Mak, Maver and Beckah Amani. Completing the project is ‘Breath’, an unreleased track that provides the EP's emotional centrepiece.
Built around shimmering melodies, warm synth textures and patient, uplifting arrangements, ‘Breath’ captures the qualities that have become synonymous with ZUSO's production. jnr.'s expressive vocal performance adds another layer of emotion, creating a track that balances introspective songwriting with dancefloor-ready energy.
According to ZUSO, the single almost never reached completion.
"I started writing this song towards the end of 2024, but never quite got around to finishing it," he explains. Revisiting the project months later with a fresh perspective ultimately led to the collaboration with jnr., transforming the unfinished idea into one of the project's defining moments.
Beyond introducing new music, the EP reflects a significant stage in the producer's artistic development. Rather than simply collecting previously released singles, the project presents a broader creative statement, with each collaboration representing a different chapter while maintaining a consistent musical identity throughout.
"'ZUSO' isn't just a collection of songs, it's a reflection of everything I've experienced, learned and felt over the past few years," the producer says, describing the record as the foundation for the next phase of his career.
With its blend of melodic progressive house, emotive songwriting and carefully curated collaborations, the self-titled EP marks an important milestone for ZUSO, highlighting both his growth as a producer and his ability to unite diverse creative voices within a cohesive musical vision.
