Tainted Youth

Tainted Youth return with ‘not enough’, a release that blends soft garage rhythms, deep house textures and emotionally driven songwriting into a sound that feels equally suited to clubs and wider crossover spaces.

Inspired by 90s house music while carrying a more contemporary edge, the track balances nostalgia with a forward-looking production style.

From the outset, the groove settles in naturally. Two-step rhythms and softer garage percussion create movement underneath while resonant piano chords and warm melodic elements gradually expand the arrangement. The rhythm remains light and fluid, allowing the track to move comfortably between dancefloor energy and more reflective moments.

The vocal becomes the emotional centre of the record. Clean topline melodies sit above the production carrying lyrics that touch on themes surrounding social media, digital pressure and the feeling of never quite measuring up. Rather than approaching the subject in a heavy-handed way, the track keeps that emotional weight woven naturally into the atmosphere.

That contrast gives ‘not enough’ much of its identity. The production remains bright and accessible while the themes underneath carry something more personal. It creates a balance between underground influences and wider crossover appeal without feeling like it is chasing either direction too heavily.

There’s also a softness running through the arrangement that makes the track feel particularly current.

The combination of garage grooves, deep house textures and emotionally led vocals places it within a growing wave of electronic music that prioritises feeling and connection alongside club functionality.

With ‘not enough’, Tainted Youth deliver an engaging first glimpse into their upcoming project, combining warmth, rhythm and introspective songwriting into a release that feels both familiar and future-facing.
