Set inside the Carlos Lopes Pavilion, the event has become a fixed point for fans of hard techno and schranz, following previous editions featuring artists such as Oguz, 999999999, and Bad Boombox. The 2026 winter edition raises the bar again, both in scale and intent.
At the centre of the lineup is Kobosil, who arrives in Portugal with a full 44 Label experience. The Berlin-based artist has become one of the most influential figures in modern hard techno, known for high-intensity sets that blend old-school energy, raw schranz, and contemporary industrial groove. His performances continue to define the sound and direction of the current scene.
Joining him is Shlømo, one of hard techno’s original pioneers, returning to Sound Waves after a standout appearance at the 2024 summer edition in Esmoriz. His inclusion reinforces the event’s link between heritage and evolution. Representing the new wave are blk. and Klofama, both bringing uncompromising industrial pressure and forward-focused sound design.
The 44 Label showcase runs deep. Somewhen steps in as one of Kobosil’s closest collaborators, delivering a technical and fast-paced approach that has been turning heads across Europe. Ornella, a defining figure in Portuguese schranz and resident at Sound Waves, appears in a B2B set with Aiden, one of the scene’s most exciting breakthrough names, promising a precise and high-impact closing moment.
With its iconic venue, carefully curated lineup and long standing reputation, Sound Waves Winter Edition 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark date for hard techno in Europe. The organisers have also confirmed a summer edition on 11 July in Esmoriz, with further details to follow.
