The countdown is on. This Saturday, 5 July, Sound Waves Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary with its biggest edition to date in Esmoriz, Portugal.
Running from 5 p.m. on Saturday until 2 p.m. on Sunday, the marathon event promises over 20 hours of non-stop music across two distinct stages, featuring more than 30 artists at the cutting edge of techno, hard techno and schranz.
The iconic Mainstage and the newly added Vicious Stage are both back with fresh designs from Nima Visual Studio, who return for the fourth consecutive year. Expect an immersive, high-impact setup at the Mainstage, while the Vicious Stage brings a more stripped-back, minimalist contrast.
Mainstage Timetable Highlights
The action kicks off at 5 p.m. with national act PK, warming things up ahead of a trio of back-to-backs. Gaddam and Anastasiya TY bring heavy vocals and acid-infused energy, followed by Miss Sheila and Joanna Coelho at 7 p.m., who take over with a mix of elegant blends and neorave punch.
By 9 p.m., Luciid joins resident Ornella for a high-octane B2B that leads into Cloudy’s heavy, groove-infused Schranz set at 10:30 p.m. The night rolls on with Fatima Hajji, blk., Onlynumbers and Basswell pushing hard techno into the early morning.
At 5:30 a.m., Oguz returns to deliver a trance-influenced set of new productions, before SNTS darkens the mood with his signature four-channel industrial workout. Lorenzo Raganzini and Rebekah keep the intensity high into the late morning.
Fantasm, Novah and Jazzy close the Mainstage between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., rounding off the festival in explosive style.

Vicious Stage Timetable Highlights
The Vicious Stage begins at 7 p.m. with Bubba Brothers and Karlos Molina easing into the night with groove-led techno. From 9 p.m., the BPMs climb with sets from FMH, Ana Dimco, Francsk, Burns, Bandeira and more, before the schranz-focused finale takes over in the early morning.
Shivas, Gaiveu, Pestdokter, Dimension 9, RØY and RÆKKE round off the Vicious Stage in style, with closing duties handled by RÆKKE at 9 a.m.
With revamped production, a stacked lineup and more energy than ever, Sound Waves 2025 is set to be a landmark moment for Portugal’s electronic scene.
