N.W.N. & Hotmood Remix SSO & Kathy Brown’s ‘Good Inside’

Sonic Soul Orchestra marks the next chapter of his new People Watching imprint with a remix package that gives the label’s debut single, ‘Good Inside’, a fresh burst of colour. The original already carried the unmistakable presence of Kathy Brown, and these new versions lean into that energy while opening the track up in two very different directions. Hungary’s N.W.N. steps in first, taking the song into deeper territory. His remix builds around an infectious piano hook and warm, rolling beats that keep the groove moving while leaving plenty of space for Kathy’s vocal to shine. The breakdown is the real lift, pushing her voice into a soaring moment that feels both intimate and expansive, the kind of peak that works just as well on a packed dance floor as it does on a late‑night radio show.
Hotmood, Mexico’s leading disco figure, brings a completely different flavour. His version slides into a low‑slung, funk‑driven mood, powered by a pumping bassline and wrapped in elegant strings, flashes of brass and those unmistakable Hotmood guitar touches. It’s a remix that feels warm, lived‑in and effortlessly groovy, the kind of cut that DJs reach for when they want to shift a room into something deeper and more playful.
Both remixers arrive with serious credentials. N.W.N., based in Hungary, has collaborated with Eddie Amador, Olav Basoski, DJ Chus, Inaya Day and Terri B!, and has released on Toolroom, Ministry of Sound, Papa Records, Stealth, Defected and Crazibiza’s Pornostar Records. Hotmood continues to be a driving force in Mexico’s disco resurgence, blending slo‑mo boogie, groove‑heavy disco, classic house and 70s funk. His catalogue spans Nervous Records, Star Creature, Kolour, De La Groove, Large Music and Spa In Disco, alongside his own label, Discoweey.
