Kelly Cappuccio debuts on the BeLove record label with her new tech house single, Wizened.
Quickly emerging as an artist tipped for big things, Kelly Cappuccio is an Italian DJ and producer who is going from strength to strength. She is quickly building an impressive catalogue of releases, already including record labels such as Dirtyclub Music, VKT, Mad Circle, and 2Dutch Records.
Her last release placed inside one of Beatport’s Top 100 charts, and this single is a strong follow-up. “Wizened” has a catchy vocal full of female empowerment, and there are funky guitar licks adding to the percussive flow of the groove. It is an underground track oozing with dance floor energy, but the vocal and guitar combo also gives it mainstream appeal.
“Wizened” opens with tom drums and a metallic shaker, which along with a solid kick drum, form the foundation of its stripped-back groove. The guitar loop and funky bassline create a moody undercurrent for the female vocal about rejecting an unwanted lover. Its bold and empowering message bolsters the energy created by the vigorous drums.
