Heddlu, the project of Welsh musician Rhodri Daniel, has dropped his second album ‘Tramor’ on Zawn Records. Buy/stream it here: https://album.link/i/1812741884.
Known for his work with the acclaimed band Estrons, Rhodri built a reputation for raw energy and sharp songwriting. When the band wrapped in 2019, his path shifted dramatically - years of touring had taken their toll, leaving him with hearing loss, tinnitus and severe sensitivity to sound. Forced to step away from live music, he channelled his creativity into a new way of writing, sketching songs in his head while walking the full 900-mile Wales Coastal Path. That period led to his acclaimed debut album ‘Cantref’ in 2022.
‘Tramor’ picks up where that journey left off. Meaning ‘overseas’ in Welsh, the album reflects years of upheaval, recovery, and creative reinvention. Written and recorded as his hearing gradually improved, the project underwent numerous revisions before taking its final shape. The result is a striking and emotional record that balances intimate songwriting with inventive production.
Each track carries a sense of vulnerability and strength. Shifting from delicate melodies to intense, layered arrangements, ‘Tramor’ captures the complexities of loss, healing and hope. It is an album built from persistence, and one that showcases Heddlu’s growth as both a writer and producer.
With ‘Tramor’, Heddlu delivers his most honest work to date and confirms his place as one of Wales’ most exciting contemporary voices.
‘Tramor’ is out now on Zawn Records and available on all streaming platforms.
