Hamdi Ryder returns to his own Eddisco Records with ‘Breezy’, a four-track EP that reinforces his understated, groove-driven approach to club music and further defines the label’s evolving identity.
The release centres on rhythm and atmosphere rather than overt peak time pressure. Title track ‘Breezy’ opens the EP with a rolling bassline and relaxed forward motion, sitting comfortably in early evening sets while retaining enough momentum to translate deeper into the night. It sets the tone for a project built on control and restraint. Grab your copy here: https://eddisco.bandcamp.com/album/breezy-ep.
‘Once Again’ follows with a tighter, more mechanical feel. Funk-influenced elements and subtle electro textures keep the groove moving with precision, maintaining energy without tipping into excess. The focus remains on flow, making the track a reliable tool for DJs looking to sustain movement without forcing transitions.
‘Whale Dubs’ shifts into a more spacious lane. Airy pads sit alongside a garage leaning rhythm, creating an immersive atmosphere that still works functionally on the floor. It is a track designed for those moments when the room settles, inviting dancers inward rather than pushing outward.
Closing cut ‘Alaize’, a collaboration with FIN, introduces broken beat patterns and acidic touches. The added edge brings contrast to the EP while staying aligned with its overall mood, offering a lift in energy without disrupting cohesion.
As a full body of work, ‘Breezy’ feels balanced and adaptable. Each track holds its own role within a set, whether bridging moments or locking into longer stretches of groove. It is another solid addition to the Eddisco catalogue, reflecting consistency rather than reinvention.
Born and raised in downtown Tunis, Hamdi Ryder has been active since the early 2010s and is widely recognised as a pioneer of Tunisia’s electronic music movement. As founder of Downtown Vibes and co-founder of Eddisco Records, he has played a key role in developing local infrastructure while building an international DJ and production career across Europe and the MENA region.
With ‘Breezy’, Hamdi Ryder continues to prioritise craft, patience and musical clarity, delivering club tools built to last rather than chase moments.
