After the success of his two-part ‘For The Music’ EP in March, London’s George Smeddles returns to the fore with another refreshingly authentic two-part release on his South Records imprint, kicking off with ‘Waiting’ on 24th May before unveiling remixes from Ruze, Duncan Thomas and Ed Nine two weeks later. ‘Waiting’ is another gleaming example of George’s unmatched sonic blueprint, blending historical musical influences that helped shape modern-day dance music with his signature, funky flare. A consummate club track, perfectly polished with bumpy grooves, deepened melodic resonance and subtle vocal accents, ‘Waiting’ is set to capture the hearts of wanting dancefloors worldwide. 

George Smeddles continues to ascend globally, crafting a distinctive House music brand that intricately weaves influences from Garage, Motown, Jazz, Soul, and Funk. Since his breakthrough in 2018 with the infectious ‘Shake Your Body,’ Smeddles has consistently propelled himself to the forefront, with hits like ‘Start The Party’ dominating Beatport charts in 2019.

In 2022, the launch of his label ‘South’ and collaborations with luminaries like Darius Syrossian solidified his position. Notable achievements include a five-week stint at #1 on Beatport with ‘Back In The Dance’ and an acclaimed remix of Indeep’s ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life.’

Smeddles’ dedication to live performance has seen him command prestigious venues such as London’s Fabric and Amnesia Ibiza, alongside appearances at CRSSD and Glastonbury. In 2023, he continued his prolific output with releases on revered labels like PIV and Meta while maintaining an extensive international touring schedule.

As he gears up for another double release on South Records in May 2024, Smeddles remains an enigmatic presence in the industry, with an expanding repertoire and a calendar brimming with exciting performances.
